He is expected to land at Bandaranaike International Airport, where he will be received by Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando.
During his visit, President Kanda will inspect the Colombo Port operations and later attend a special luncheon meeting with private sector representatives at ITC Ratnadipa. He will also participate in a welcome reception and staff meeting at the ADB Sri Lanka Resident Mission (SLRM) this evening.
On the second day of his visit (March 24), the ADB President and his delegation will travel to the Kegalle District to assess the damage caused by the recent ‘Ditchwa’ cyclone. The delegation will visit Aranayake Rivasanda Central College by helicopter and conduct field inspections in the affected areas of Narangala and Ambalakanda.
A key highlight of the visit will be a meeting with President of Sri Lanka at the Presidential Secretariat at 3:00 PM on March 24.
Following the completion of his official engagements, President Kanda is scheduled to depart the island at 1:00 AM on March 25.
