Fuel prices surge in Sri Lanka following CPC revision

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced a significant increase in fuel prices, effective from midnight on the 21st, impacting consumers and businesses across Sri Lanka.

According to the revision, the price of auto diesel has risen by Rs. 79, bringing the new rate to Rs. 382 per litre. Super diesel saw an even steeper hike of Rs. 90, now priced at Rs. 443 per litre.

Petrol prices have also been adjusted upward. Petrol 92 octane increased by Rs. 81 to Rs. 398 per litre, while petrol 95 octane jumped by Rs. 90 to reach Rs. 455 per litre. Meanwhile, kerosene prices have gone up by Rs. 60, now costing Rs. 255 per litre.

In parallel, Lanka IOC has announced that it will revise its fuel prices in line with the CPC adjustments, ensuring uniformity across the market.

Revised Fuel Prices:

Auto Diesel – Rs. 382 (↑ Rs. 79)

Super Diesel – Rs. 443 (↑ Rs. 90)

Petrol 92 Octane – Rs. 398 (↑ Rs. 81)

Kerosene – Rs. 255 (↑ Rs. 60)

Petrol 95 Octane – Rs. 455 (↑ Rs. 90)

The latest price hike is expected to have a ripple effect on transportation costs, inflation, and the overall cost of living, as fuel remains a key driver of economic activity in the country.
