The Emir briefed the President on current conditions, assuring him of the safety and welfare of all residents, including Sri Lankan nationals.
The two leaders also addressed wider challenges stemming from the escalating situation, including possible disruptions to global supply chains and energy markets. They highlighted risks to key maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz.
President Dissanayake emphasized the importance of enhanced international coordination to mitigate the economic impact of rising energy costs, particularly on developing countries like Sri Lanka.
His Highness the Emir reaffirmed Qatar’s role as a stable and reliable partner in the global energy sector and its commitment to maintaining uninterrupted supplies despite current challenges.
