According to the Ministry of Digital Economy, applicants can now seek support by sending their vehicle number via WhatsApp to 076 000 1919. Authorities emphasized that the vehicle number must be submitted as text rather than an image.
To complete the process, applicants are required to provide clear photographs of key documents, including a valid National Identity Card (NIC), driving licence or passport, a valid vehicle licence, and the Vehicle Registration Certificate (CR).
The Ministry noted that only the registered owner of the vehicle is eligible to request assistance, and the identification number provided must match the details on the Vehicle Registration Certificate.
Officials further assured that all personal data will be handled in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022. Information collected will be used solely for verification purposes, and all personal details—except the vehicle number—will be securely deleted upon completion of the process.
