Police Launch 24/7 WhatsApp Hotline to Report Crimes in Western Province

Sri Lanka Police have introduced a new 24-hour WhatsApp hotline to help the public report crimes and illegal activities within the Western Province.

According to police, the initiative is aimed at strengthening crime prevention efforts by encouraging citizens to share information quickly and conveniently. The hotline is operated by a Special Operations Unit established at the office of the Senior Deputy Inspector General (SDIG) in charge of the Western Province.

Members of the public can use the WhatsApp number 077 712 8128 to provide information related to criminal activities, including drug trafficking and other unlawful acts occurring within the province.

Police assured that the confidentiality of all individuals providing information will be strictly protected.

Authorities encourage the public to actively support law enforcement efforts by using this new communication channel to report suspicious activities.
