According to the Department, the new holiday schedule will impact several EPF-related services, including benefit payments, 30 per cent withdrawals, deceased member claims and AH registrations, as offices will remain closed on Wednesdays.
Officials said members who already have appointments on Wednesdays are advised to reschedule their visits within the next four working days — Thursday, Friday, Monday or Tuesday — in order to avoid delays in receiving services.
The Labour Department, under the instructions of the Commissioner General of Labour, requested the public to plan their visits in advance and be mindful of the revised working schedule. Authorities warned that failure to rearrange appointments may result in longer waiting periods due to limited working days.
The Department further stated that the change comes in line with the Government’s decision to introduce a weekly holiday for public institutions as part of measures to manage operations under the current national situation. Officials noted that adjustments are being made across the public sector to ensure services continue with minimal disruption despite the reduced number of working days.
EPF officials assured that all essential services will continue on the remaining working days and additional arrangements will be made if necessary to handle the increased number of visitors on those days.
Members were also encouraged to use available online and telephone services whenever possible to reduce congestion at offices.
Authorities said the public will be informed in advance if any further changes to the schedule are introduced.
