The Cabinet has approved a proposal by the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation to award a new contract for the provision of ground handling services for SriLankan Airlines aircraft at Male Airport in the Maldives.
The current contract is set to expire on 31 March 2026. Following a proposal from the sole service provider at the airport, the Board, acting on a recommendation from the High-Level Standing Procurement Committee, approved awarding the contract to Maldives Airport Company Limited.
The new agreement will run for three years, from 1 April 2026, at a total value of US$ 16.19 million.
The contract ensures continued ground handling support for SriLankan Airlines aircraft at Male Airport, maintaining operational efficiency and service standards.
