The platform was inaugurated at the Ministry Auditorium in Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla, under the patronage of Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development Bimal Rathnayake.
According to officials, the primary objective of the initiative is to streamline development services and projects by integrating public involvement through a modern digital system. The platform is expected to enable stakeholders, professionals, and the general public to actively contribute ideas and feedback related to urban planning and sustainable development.
“Mother Lanka Digital” has been designed to support the country’s transition toward a digitally driven economic framework while ensuring that government services remain efficient, transparent, and reliable.
The system will also facilitate the open exchange of ideas in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, allowing citizens and experts to share their perspectives on development plans, regulations, and sustainable projects. Authorities believe this inclusive approach will help shape future cities that are both environmentally sustainable and socially responsive.
Officials stated that the platform represents a significant step toward building a collaborative national development model where technology enables stronger engagement between the government and the public.
