The Chairman of the National Transport Commission, P. A. Chandrapala, stated that arrangements have been made to provide a weekly fuel quota ranging between 60 and 360 liters for passenger transport buses through a QR-based system.

Weekly Fuel Quota for Passenger Buses to be Issued via QR System

He made these remarks while addressing a press conference held at the Ministry of Transport.

According to the Chairman, the amount of fuel allocated to each bus will be determined based on the distance it operates. Until the QR-based mechanism is fully implemented, the Sri Lanka Transport Board will continue to supply the necessary fuel for passenger buses.

Mr. Chandrapala further noted that this temporary measure will ensure the uninterrupted operation of passenger transport services across the country.
