Red Wings marks 500th flight to Mattala with 411 Russian tourists

The 500th flight operated by Red Wings Airlines from Russia arrived at Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport on 10 March 2026, carrying 411 tourists and marking a key milestone in charter operations between the two countries.

 Since the launch of these services, a total of 500 Red Wings flights have transported approximately 194,190 Russian tourists to Sri Lanka, Aviation voice reported. The milestone highlights the growing role of charter flights in supporting the country’s tourism sector and strengthening travel connectivity between Russia and Sri Lanka.
