Parliamentary Committee approves all new Ambassadors

The appointments include:

Mr. Dharshana M. Perera – High Commissioner-designate to Malaysia

Mr. D.M.S.P. Dassanayake – Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva

Ms. Dayani Mendis – Ambassador and Permanent Representative-designate to Austria

Mr. S.P.W. Pathirana – Ambassador-designate to Romania

Ms. N.I.D. Paranavitana – Ambassador and Permanent Representative-designate to Ethiopia and the African Union

Mr. S.K. Chandrasiri – Ambassador-designate to Israel

Mr. Dhammika Fernando – High Commissioner-designate to Kenya

Mr. Anura Withanage – Ambassador-designate to Lebanon

Prof. Ms. M.I. Fazeeha Azmi – Ambassador-designate to Iran

Mr. M. Farook M. Fawzer – Representative-designate to Palestine

The President’s Media Division siad that the appointments are now formally approved, enabling the diplomats to take up their international postings.
