In a statement posted on X, Rajapaksa noted that the former Director of the State Intelligence Service had played an important role in Sri Lanka’s fight against terrorism that lasted nearly three decades.
He said Salle’s service to national security was commendable and claimed that politically influenced narratives had been created over time linking him to the 2019 Easter Sunday Attacks.
