SriLankan Airlines will increase its weekly flights between Colombo and Melbourne to 10 services per week starting 2 August 2026, adding three additional flights to meet growing passenger demand and changing market dynamics.

The national carrier said the expansion reflects its commitment to strengthening its presence in Australia, which has recently emerged as one of the fastest-growing inbound tourism markets to Sri Lanka. Growth has been driven largely by leisure travel and an increasing number of visits by family and friends.

The newly introduced flights will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, departing Colombo at 14:10 hrs and arriving in Melbourne at 04:30 hrs the following day. Return flights will depart Melbourne at 06:00 hrs and reach Colombo at 12:15 hrs, providing convenient onward connections across the airline’s wider network.

In addition to the new services, the airline will continue operating its daily UL604 flight, which departs Colombo at 00:20 hrs and arrives in Melbourne at 14:40 hrs. The return service, UL605, leaves Melbourne at 16:10 hrs and arrives in Colombo at 22:25 hrs, offering seamless connections to several destinations, particularly across India.
