Accordingly, the water supply will be interrupted in all areas within the Negombo Municipal Council limits, as well as areas under the Katana Pradeshiya Sabha. The water cut will also affect the Aeththiyawala, Jankuruwela, Kaluwarippuwa, Miriswatta, Kongodamulla, Halpe, Andimulla, Ambalayaya, Thoppuwa, and Waikkal Grama Niladhari divisions.
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board stated that the interruption is due to essential maintenance work at the Bambukuliya Water Treatment Plant.
The board expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and requested the public to use water sparingly during this period.
