Sri Lanka is expected to experience mainly dry weather conditions across most parts of the island during the next 24 hours, according to the latest weather forecast.

A few showers are likely in the Northern and Eastern provinces. Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur at several locations in the Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts during the evening or night.

Early morning misty conditions are also expected in parts of the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, including the Galle and Matara districts.

Sea Area Forecast

In sea areas around the island, a few showers are expected in the coastal regions extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Kankasanthurai, Trincomalee, and Batticaloa. Other sea areas are expected to experience mainly fair weather.

Winds over the sea will be easterly to northeasterly with speeds ranging between 20–30 kmph. However, wind speeds may increase up to 40 kmph at times in the sea areas from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and from Matara to Pottuvil.

Sea conditions in the areas from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and from Matara to Pottuvil are expected to be moderate at times, while other surrounding sea areas will remain slight.
