National Lotteries Board records Rs. 7.8 B net profit in 2025

The National Lotteries Board (NLB) has reported a net profit of Rs. 7.8 billion for the year 2025, according to its final financial statements.

This marks a 30% increase compared to the Rs. 6 billion net profit recorded in the previous year.

The NLB also stated that the lottery sales network generated revenue exceeding Rs. 9 billion, reflecting a 27% growth compared to the revenue earned in 2024.

Meanwhile, by the end of 2025, the NLB had contributed Rs. 7.2 billion to the Treasury, which represents an increase of Rs. 1.6 billion compared to the previous year. In percentage terms, this indicates a 28% rise in contributions.

The Board also succeeded in surpassing its estimated revenue target of Rs. 40 billion for 2025, achieving an overall 20% increase in revenue, equivalent to an additional Rs. 8 billion.

In addition, the total amount paid to lottery winners as prize money reached Rs. 24.8 billion during the year. This is a 26.8% increase compared to the prize money paid in the previous year.

These figures were disclosed by NLB Chairman M.D.C.A. Perera.
