The Department of National Museums of Sri Lanka announced that the reconstructed remains of Nedungamuwe Raja, the famous elephant that carried the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha in processions since 2005, will be opened for public viewing from the 11th.

Director General of the department, Sanuja Kasthuriarachchi, stated that the preserved and reconstructed elephant will be displayed at the Natural Science Museum, Colombo located within the Colombo National Museum premises.
