The sailors had been receiving medical treatment at the hospital after they were rescued from the sea following the incident involving the Iranian naval vessel. Medical officials confirmed that the group was discharged after their conditions improved.
Following their discharge, the rescued sailors were transported to the SLAF base in Koggala where they will remain under the coordination of Sri Lankan authorities.
Earlier, a total of 32 Iranian sailors were rescued after the Iranian warship encountered difficulties and sank at sea. Authorities continue to coordinate with relevant diplomatic and naval officials regarding the situation.
