The figure represents an increase of $180.9 million compared to the $548.1 million recorded in February 2025. However, it is slightly lower than the $751.1 million received in January 2026.

The Central Bank further noted that total workers’ remittances from January to February 2026 reached $1.48 billion, reflecting a 32% increase compared to the same period last year.

Workers’ remittances remain one of Sri Lanka’s key sources of foreign exchange, contributing significantly to the country’s economic stability.
