Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, stated that there has been an observed increase in missile attacks launched by the Hezbollah organization targeting northern areas of Israel.
According to the ambassador, residents in the northern region—including Haifa, Nahariya, Acre, Galilee, Afula, the Carmel mountain range, Nazareth, and Tiberias—could potentially face attacks originating from the direction of Lebanon.
He further emphasized that Sri Lankans should also remain alert to possible provocative incidents that may be carried out by certain groups within the country.
However, Ambassador Bandara noted that there has been a visible decline in attacks coming from Iran at present.
The embassy has therefore urged Sri Lankan nationals in Israel, particularly those in the northern region, to remain cautious and follow local security guidelines.
