Accordingly, employees of the Varun Beverages Lanka Pvt Ltd branch of the union contributed Rs. 458,629, while members of the Eheliyagoda branch of Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC donated Rs. 337,662, representing one day’s salary of their employees.
The cheques were handed over yesterday (March 3) to Senior Additional Secretary to the President Russell Aponsu.
Among those present at the occasion were Senior Vice President of the parent body of the Inter Company Employees’ Union Somadasa Weeratunga, President of the Varun Beverages Lanka branch of the union R. M. K. Perera, and representatives of Varun Beverages Lanka Pvt Ltd, Janaka Saman Withana, Isuru Eranga, and S. A. K. Weerasinghe.
Several representatives from the Eheliyagoda branch of Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC were also present at the event.
