The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has revealed that it received 630 complaints related to bribery during the first month of 2026.
According to the Commission, 11 individuals were arrested in January in connection with bribery-related offences. Among those taken into custody were three political representatives.
The Commission further stated that legal action was instituted against seven public officials during the same month over alleged bribery or corruption offences.
Meanwhile, CIABOC noted that court proceedings conducted in January resulted in state revenue amounting to Rs. 437,420
