During the conversations, Minister Herath conveyed Sri Lanka’s condolences and expressed regret over the situation faced by each country due to the war. He reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s concern over the escalating crisis and its humanitarian impact.
The Minister also requested that the safety and security of Sri Lankans residing in those countries be ensured. He noted that the Sri Lankan Government has taken steps to strengthen security arrangements for tourists from those nations currently visiting Sri Lanka
Minister Herath further stated that Sri Lanka would not hesitate to provide humanitarian assistance if requested in the event of an emergency.
In response, the Middle Eastern Foreign Ministers expressed their sincere appreciation for Sri Lanka’s concern and solidarity. They also assured that necessary measures would be taken to safeguard Sri Lankan nationals within their respective countries.
