The Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Arusha Cooray, has issued several important notices for Sri Lankans residing in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Ambassador, approximately 350,000 Sri Lankans are currently living in the UAE. She stated that the Sri Lankan Embassy maintains direct communication with the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, and Ministry of Interior to ensure the safety and well-being of Sri Lankan nationals.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates has also established a special service to provide assistance during emergency situations.

The Embassy and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai regularly publish updates regarding transportation, safe locations, and airport access through official channels, including the Dubai Facebook page. Sri Lankans are advised to check these platforms frequently for the latest information.

Those currently travelling are urged to remain in close contact with their respective airlines and travel agents.

Ambassador Mrs. Cooray further emphasized the importance of relying only on official statements and verified news sources. She assured that the UAE authorities are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of their citizens and visitors to the country.
