Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, D. J. A. S. de S. Rajakaruna, has assured that the recent resurgence of conflict in the Middle East will not disrupt fuel supplies in Sri Lanka.

He stated that there is no risk to the country’s fuel distribution system at present, despite concerns over escalating tensions in the region.

According to the Chairman, sufficient fuel stocks are already available within the country to meet current demand. He emphasized that the authorities have taken necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted supply and that the public need not worry about potential shortages.

The assurance comes amid global concerns that renewed instability in the Middle East could impact international oil markets and supply chains. However, the CPC maintains that Sri Lanka’s fuel reserves remain stable and adequate.
