The event was held following an invitation extended by the Chief Incumbent, Venerable Aththadassi Thero of Kelaniya. The golden fence has been newly erected around the revered Bodhi sapling, which is a descendant of the historic Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura and holds significant religious importance for Buddhist devotees.
A large number of devotees and well-wishers gathered at the temple premises to witness the occasion. Religious observances and blessings were conducted to mark the opening ceremony, highlighting the spiritual significance of the sacred site.
The construction of the golden fence is seen as a step toward further enhancing and preserving the sanctity of the temple grounds, while providing devotees with an improved space for worship and reflection.
