The exhibition is jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, the Industrial Development Board (IDB), the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), and the Sri Lanka Footwear and Leather Products Manufacturers Association. The fair will remain open to the public until Sunday, March 1.
A special highlight of this year’s exhibition is the introduction of dedicated Buyer–Seller Meeting zones, designed to facilitate direct engagement between local manufacturers and both domestic and international buyers. In line with the upcoming “EXPO 2026” international exhibition, promotional initiatives are also being carried out to strengthen Sri Lanka’s presence in European markets, including Germany.
Currently generating approximately USD 60 million in export revenue, the industry aims to increase earnings to USD 100 million by 2030. As part of this growth strategy, plans are underway to establish a leather-based industrial zone in Valaichchenai within this year.
The footwear and leather sector, which provides livelihoods to over 400,000 people, is showcasing a wide range of high-quality products and modern designs under one roof. Visitors are offered the opportunity to explore and purchase these products at concessionary prices throughout the exhibition period.
