According to the Kalutara South Police, a large stock of rubber products stored inside the warehouse has been completely destroyed due to the blaze. A three-wheeler and two motorcycles parked near the warehouse were also caught in the fire and entirely gutted.
The Kalutara Municipal Council Fire Brigade took immediate steps to bring the fire under control. Police officers stated that personnel from the Special Task Force and local residents provided strong support in efforts to contain the flames.
Authorities further noted that there was a risk of the fire spreading to a nearby house. Residents acted swiftly and removed household items and equipment from the premises to prevent further damage.
