Sri Lanka Police has announced that its “Tell IGP” online platform is now operating кругл-the-clock, enabling citizens locally and overseas to directly connect with the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Police Media Spokesman ASP F. U. Wootler said the upgraded service functions 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with new features introduced to make public access easier and more efficient.

He stated that the facility is available not only to Sri Lankan citizens residing in the country and abroad, but also to foreign nationals who are living in Sri Lanka or have visited the country as tourists.

According to the spokesman, complaints can be submitted in Sinhala, Tamil and English. Members of the public are not required to visit their nearest police station or territorial police division to lodge complaints, as submissions can be made directly online.

The Tell IGP platform accepts complaints and information relating to crimes, corruption, traffic issues, public nuisance, fraud, child abuse, sexual assault and other matters that require the attention of the IGP. Citizens can also provide confidential information either by name or anonymously. Police assured that all submissions will be treated with 100 percent confidentiality.

The service also allows individuals who are dissatisfied with ongoing police investigations or believe justice has not been served to report their concerns directly through the platform.

Sri Lanka Police said that 733 newly trained police personnel have been deployed to support the initiative across 608 police stations and 48 territorial police divisions islandwide.

To access the service, the public can visit the official website of Sri Lanka Police at www.police.lk, navigate to the e-services section, click on the “Tell IGP” icon and submit their message or complaint along with any relevant attachments.

The Police Spokesman emphasized that all messages received through the Tell IGP online service are handled in a strictly confidential, impartial and transparent manner, with the objective of improving public service delivery.
