The arrest was made during a joint operation carried out by Army intelligence officers and Special Forces personnel from Gonahena at the Children’s Park on Balapokuna Road in the Kirulapone area.
During the operation, officers seized approximately 5 kg of hashish along with a scooter-type motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspect. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is around Rs. 30 million.
The suspect and the seized items were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
