The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka has announced that public views on the proposed electricity tariff revision for the second quarter of this year will be accepted until March 18.

The Commission stated that both written and oral submissions, including proposals and suggestions regarding the electricity tariff revision, will be accepted. The process of gathering public comments commenced yesterday.

Arrangements have been made to receive oral submissions at five locations covering all nine provinces. Accordingly, members of the public can present their views in Ampara on March 7, Vavuniya on March 11, and Matale on March 12.

An opportunity to submit views will also be provided in Hambantota on March 16. The final oral consultation is scheduled to be held on March 18.

Following the conclusion of the public consultation process, the Commission stated that a final decision will be announced after carefully reviewing all submissions received.
