Held under the aegis of the Governor of the Western Province and the Colombo Municipal Council, the three-day festival is expected to feature 125 stalls showcasing a diverse range of products and services. Visitors can look forward to traditional Muslim food, henna artistry, Arabic calligraphy, and displays by leading automobile companies, alongside community outreach initiatives including a free poster walkthrough.
A vibrant cultural programme has also been planned, featuring Islamic choir performances, traditional devotional songs, dramas, and performances by schoolchildren.
Families attending the event can enjoy a dedicated play area for children, with several activities designed to make the evenings memorable for young visitors.
While Salam Ramadan is primarily a spiritual and cultural celebration for Muslims, organisers expect participation from people of all faiths and communities. The public is encouraged to join in the festivities and experience the spirit of Ramadan together.
All food stalls will serve halal meals and beverages for breaking fast and dinner. Special arrangements have been made for Maghrib, Isha, and Taraweeh prayers at Viharamahadevi Park, adjacent to the event venue.
