The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal to publish a Bill amending the Social Security Contribution Tax Act, No. 25 of 2022, in line with the 2026 Budget Proposal.

The Bill, prepared by the Legal Draftsman, has already received clearance from the Attorney General. Following the Cabinet’s approval, the Bill will be published in the Government Gazette and subsequently submitted to Parliament for consideration and approval.

The amendment aims to align the Social Security Contribution Tax framework with the objectives outlined in the 2026 Budget, ensuring clarity and compliance in the collection and administration of social security contributions across the country.
