Despite these measures, consumers in a number of areas continue to face inconvenience due to limited availability of cooking gas, with long queues reported at certain distribution points.
Amid the supply constraints, a ship carrying 3,900 metric tons of Litro gas arrived in the island the day before yesterday, bolstering existing stocks.
In addition, two more vessels transporting a total of 7,600 metric tons of gas are scheduled to reach Sri Lanka tomorrow and again on the 28th, according to the company.
Litro stated that the arrival of the additional shipments is expected to stabilise distribution and help restore normal supply levels in the coming days.
