Cruise ship carrying 558 tourists arrives at Trincomalee port

A cruise liner carrying 558 foreign tourists arrived at the Trincomalee Port marking another significant boost for Sri Lanka’s growing tourism sector.

The vessel docked at the Ashroff Jetty of the port after sailing from the Bahamas. Local authorities and tourism officials welcomed the passengers upon arrival.

During their stay, the visitors are scheduled to explore several of Trincomalee’s popular attractions. In addition, tour itineraries include visits to other renowned cultural and heritage sites in Sri Lanka, such as Dambulla and the iconic Sigiriya.

Tourism officials noted that cruise arrivals continue to contribute positively to the country’s economy, benefiting local businesses, tour operators, and hospitality services.
