A student from Darga Town, who is appearing for the Ordinary Level examination this time, returned home late last Saturday and went to a friend's house with her sister, who is studying in Year 10, and returned late. The father, who arrived home before the two children, got angry and attacked both of them.
The student who was writing the Ordinary Level examination and her sister, who is studying in Year 10, who were attacked by their father, could not bear the attack and lodged a complaint at the Aluthgama Police Station on Sunday morning. Later, the Police Children and Women's Bureau registered this complaint and admitted the two sisters to the Aluthgama Hospital. Later, the two were transferred to the Nagoda Teaching Hospital in Kalutara for further treatment.
There, she explained to Aluthgama Police OIC Sampath Sanjeewa that she was writing for this year's examination regarding the beating that her father had given her and her sister.
Accordingly, Aluthgama Police OIC Sampath Sanjeewa this morning (23) gave his official jeep to two female police officers and provided the student with food and drink, bought pens, pencils, boxes of things and sent her to Nagoda Hospital in Kalutara. The student, who is a resident of Darga Town and is appearing for this year's Ordinary Level examination, who is receiving treatment there, was taken in a jeep with the permission of the hospital authorities and sent to the examination center of Sri Gnanissara Mahavidyalaya in Darga Town and after the examination ended at 4.10 pm, she was sent back to Nagoda Teaching Hospital under the protection of police women, the OIC said.
By now, the two children have faced this situation while living with their father without the care of their mother.
Meanwhile, the police said they are working to arrest the suspect father who is hiding after attacking the two students.
