LAUGFS Gas PLC has announced that a ship carrying 3,500 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is scheduled to arrive in the country on the 27th, providing much-needed relief to consumers.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Nalinda Kurukulasuriya, stated that the stocks will be released to the market promptly starting from the 28th to ensure continuous supply across the island.

According to the company, the vessel is currently in the Maldives, where loading operations are set to take place tomorrow before it departs for Sri Lanka.

In addition, LAUGFS confirmed that another ship carrying an extra 3,500 metric tons of gas is scheduled to arrive eight days after the first shipment. The consecutive arrivals are expected to strengthen supply stability and ease any prevailing shortages in the domestic market.

The company assured the public that distribution activities will be carried out without delay once the shipments are received.
