District Secretary Thushari Thennakoon stated that all relevant authorities have been prepared to respond promptly in the event of an emergency.
She noted that precautionary measures have already been taken to raise awareness among residents in landslide-prone areas, including Walapane, Nildandahinna, and Mathurata, where landslide warnings have been issued.
The District Secretary urged the public to stay continuously informed about disaster warnings and to follow official guidance to minimize potential risks.
Meanwhile, the Aranayake–Dothal Oya road, which had previously been completely submerged due to the impact of Cyclone Dithva and later reconstructed, has reportedly been submerged again following heavy rainfall yesterday, according to local correspondents
