The approval will clear the final hurdle for the formal dissolution of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and the transfer of its responsibilities to newly established successor entities.
Mr. Pubudu Niroshan, Head of the CEB Transitional Task Force, confirmed that the CEB will be officially dissolved by the end of this month through the gazetting of the "Appointed Date."
This step will complete Phase 1 of the state utility’s reform, officially placing the country’s electricity management under a restructured framework.
