Accordingly, the warnings apply to areas in the Nuwara Eliya District, including Walapane, Nildandahinna, Mathurata, and Hanguranketha.In addition, the warning has been extended to several areas in the Badulla District, namely Meegahakiula and Kandaketiya.
Residents living in these areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, particularly those residing in landslide-prone zones. Authorities have urged the public to stay alert for signs of soil movement, cracks in walls or the ground, and sudden changes in water flow, and to follow instructions issued by local disaster management officials.
