Accordingly, the price of a pound of 22-carat gold at the Colombo Hettiveediya Gold Market this morning (21) climbed to Rs. 366,300, up from Rs. 362,600 quoted yesterday (20).
Meanwhile, the price of a pound of 24-carat gold has also increased. After being quoted at Rs. 392,000 on Friday, it rose to Rs. 396,000 today, according to market sources.
Traders attribute the upward trend to fluctuations in global gold prices and exchange rate movements.
