Police investigations revealed that the seized drugs were being circulated within the country under the direction of Sudharaka Devapriya Peiris, a suspected large-scale trafficker currently abroad and related to the arrested man by marriage.
Chief Inspector Gamage Nilantha, Officer-in-Charge of the bureau, said the arrest underscores ongoing efforts to dismantle local drug networks and prevent their spread in the Colombo suburbs. Further investigations are underway to identify additional operatives and connections within the trafficking chain.
