The authorities have announced that a total of 36,000 breathalyser test kits will be imported into the country to strengthen efforts against intoxicated driving.

Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Traffic and Road Safety, W. P. J. Senadhira, confirmed that the consignment of test kits is expected to arrive within the next three months. The move aims to enhance road safety by enabling police officers to efficiently test and identify drivers under the influence of alcohol.

This initiative is part of ongoing measures to reduce traffic accidents and improve public safety on the roads.
