The Water Resources Engineering Office has announced that the sluice gates of the Alikota Reservoir, located in the Monaragala District, will be opened.
According to the announcement, this decision has been made due to the current adverse weather conditions and the addition of excess water to the reservoir caused by high electricity generation at the Uma Oya project.
