According to reports, the bus, which was transporting a group of Indian tourists from Nuwara Eliya to Colombo, was involved in the collision under circumstances yet to be clarified.
At the time of the incident, a 40-year-old woman and her two children a daughter and a son were waiting by the roadside when they sustained serious injuries. All three were admitted to hospital for treatment. Tragically, the mother later succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, two Indian nationals who were travelling on the bus also suffered injuries and were hospitalized.
