The Minister stated that steps are being taken to arrest the suspects. According to his statement, the vehicle involved in the crime was found burnt in the Baddegama area, while the vehicle used to transport firearms has already been seized in Kottawa.
Investigations have now identified the shooter as Roobert Suresh, residing at No. 102/9, Temple Road, Rukgahawela. Police have also identified the owner of the vehicle used to bring the shooters to their accommodation before the crime as Wanniarachchige Sihinaya Dilsara, residing at Rasika Niwasa, Old Colony, Athkandura, Galle.
He said investigations are underway to arrest both suspects and recover the vehicle linked to the crime.
