Speaking at a special media briefing, the Minister condemned the recent shooting death of a lawyer and his wife in the Akuregoda area. “The people who committed this murder will not be forgiven, and they will not be allowed to escape the law,” he emphasized.
However, Minister Nanayakkara clarified that, despite the tragic incident, no lawyers have been specifically threatened with death. He added that claims suggesting otherwise were slogans propagated by certain groups, including opposition parties.
