The visit comes following an official invitation extended by the Government of Bangladesh to 13 countries, including Sri Lanka, to witness the transition of power.
The new cabinet will be led by Tarique Rahman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 17.
Minister Jayathissa’s participation at the event underscores the longstanding diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and reflects Colombo’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
