During his visit, Mr. Lammy will also sign an agreement on the Charter for the Global Campaign on Children’s Care. The Global Charter on Children’s Care Reform urges world leaders to uphold UN conventions on children’s rights and the rights of persons with disabilities, invest in families, children, and inclusive services, and eliminate violence against children as well as harmful practices such as orphanage tourism.
Mr. Lammy is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on Tuesday morning, hold discussions with Sri Lankan leaders, and participate in the Global Charter on Children’s Care Reform event at the UN office. He is expected to depart Sri Lanka on Tuesday evening after completing his engagements.
