The dense mist has significantly reduced visibility along the Hatton–Nuwara Eliya and Hatton–Colombo main roads, as well as several connecting by-roads in the region.
Officials from the traffic division of the Hatton Police have urged motorists traveling along these routes to exercise extreme caution. Drivers are advised to switch on their vehicle headlights and proceed at reduced speeds to prevent accidents due to poor visibility.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and request the public to remain vigilant while traveling through affected areas.
